Art Plus X announced that it will hold the "2024 Art Plus X Art Fair" at Yeongdeungpo Art Square from the 27th to the 1st of next month.
The event, which will debut this year, is an artist art market designed to focus on introducing 60 young MZ generation artists, establishing contact points with the region, businesses, and society, and discovering young art lovers.
A total of 60 artists born after the promising 1980s will present about 330 works, including paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations. It introduces not only good works to collect, but also non-mainstream art and experimental art, and seeks to spread and distribution channels through collaboration with regions and companies.
About 50 artists will participate in the Moon Jar Special Exhibition with "Daily Life" to try to expand the work through the combination of crafts and contemporary art. Whiskey Glenfiddick, known as the No. 1 global seller, supports a special exhibition introducing young Korean writers to global residency programs and networking parties for writers amid the surging popularity of whiskey along with a culture of enjoying high-end alcoholic beverages centered on the MZ generation.
Participating writers Shin Je-hyun and ballerino Lim Jae-yoon performed "Let Mein" in time for the opening on September 27, and on the evening of the 28th, a networking party was held with the support of Glenfiddick at Ando Project Studio, where a special exhibition was held. During the weekend, the exhibition tour tailored to the children's eye level, the "Suseong Monotype" experience with participating artist Jeong Jin-kyung, and the "Pieces Omakase" program with artist Park Jin-woo were held. An art official who watched the exhibition said, "It is an exhibition where you can take a serious look at the works of young artists born in the late 1980s," and a participating artist expressed his feelings about participating in the exhibition, saying, "It is an exhibition that stands out even though it is an art fair."
Kim Hyun-woo, who started with pixel drawing and is drawing attention for his mathematical drawing series that combines recent social issues and natural phenomena from Greek and Roman mythology, and Oh Je-sung, who was selected as a sponsor of the CJ Cultural Foundation through Kumho Young Artist in 2024, and the Korea Massena Association, will participate. In addition, artist Lee Se-jun, who won the KSD Art Prize in 2019 and Song Eun Art Prize in 2022, participated in the 2024 Kiaf Highlight 10 and received attention from the domestic and foreign art world, will also participate.
Cho Young-gak, a new media artist who incorporates Generative AI into art, was selected as a public art hero and finally selected for the 2023 Porsche Dreamers on Media Art Project, and is a promising artist who has held a number of exhibitions at the National Asian Cultural Center, the Seoul Museum of Art, the Yermita Museum in Russia, and the Tokyo Museum of Photography.
The event will be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Arts Management Support Center, the Artist Art Market, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation, as well as daily leisure, glanfiddic, design house, and design press.
