Na Kyung-won pushes bill to "mandate nationality in comments"

2024.09.30 오후 05:52
Na Kyung-won, a member of the People's Power, said she is proposing an amendment to the Information and Communication Network Act that requires online commenters to mark their nationality and access location.

Representative Na explained the background of the motion, saying that the number of domestic public opinion manipulation cases using illegal overseas access or bypass access is increasing.

The amendment calls for information and communication service providers to face up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 50 million won if they do not clearly indicate the nationality of the commenter or do not comply with the request to submit data.
