Defense Minister and Senior EU Representative Talks Bilateral Meeting... "Deplores North Korea's Dispatch"

The Ministry of National Defense said Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun held a bilateral meeting with Rousseff Borrell, the European Union's top foreign and security representative, who is visiting Korea to discuss the security situation.

The Ministry of National Defense said that Minister Kim and Senior Representative Borrell expressed serious concerns and strongly condemned the North Korean military's dispatch to Russia.

The two sides then agreed that South Korea and the EU will continue to strengthen security and defense cooperation in various fields, recognizing the connection between European and Atlantic security and Indo-Pacific security.

In addition, the Ministry of National Defense added that the strategic partnership between South Korea and the EU is deepening and developing due to the joint statement of the Korea-EU leaders last year.
