The National Assembly's plenary session on the 14th, this Thursday, is expected to introduce the "Kim Special Prosecutor Act," which was proposed for the third time by the Democratic Party of Korea.

Amid the opposition's attack on the independent counsel law, the people's power has begun to discuss the promotion of a special inspector in detail, and the struggle between the ruling and opposition parties is intensifying.

Please tell us the movement of the ruling and opposition parties on the holiday ahead of the special prosecution law vote

As the third "Kim Special Prosecutor Act" is expected to be presented to the plenary session of the National Assembly this week, the ruling and opposition parties are also accelerating their related movements.

First of all, within the power of the people, the discussion on the promotion of a special inspector, which was publicly demanded by representative Han Dong-hoon, is a hot topic.

The general meeting of lawmakers to discuss this has been decided to be held on the 14th, when the independent counsel law is expected to be voted on by the plenary session, not at the beginning of the week.

In a call with YTN, a floor official said they will discuss pending issues, including the recommendation of candidates for special inspector, at a general meeting of lawmakers on the 14th.

In the first place, the floor leadership linked the recommendation of a special inspector to the recommendation of a director of the North Korean Human Rights Foundation, resulting in a battle between pro-Yoon-gye and close relatives.

Some analysts say that if the issue of the special inspector is smoothly agreed at the general meeting of the ruling party lawmakers, it could be used as a card to counter the opposition's attack on the special counsel law against Kim.

In this regard, a floor official said that there seems to be a consensus that a vote should not be made on the issue of the special inspector, but explained that it is still difficult to predict what kind of agreement will be reached within the party.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Korea, which finished its second outdoor rally yesterday, is expected to further strengthen its public opinion campaign to implement the independent counsel law.

If the independent counsel law goes to the plenary session this week, it is widely expected that it will pass with a majority approval amid the opposition's numerical advantage.

As President Yoon Suk Yeol is expected to exercise his right to demand reconsideration in response, the re-vote expected on the 28th is expected to be the key.

From the perspective of the Democratic Party of Korea, it is expected to focus on the offensive aimed at this niche, as more than eight votes from the ruling party are needed to implement the independent counsel law.

A key party official told YTN that persuasion work is being carried out at the level of individual lawmakers, and ruling party lawmakers also seem to be quite confused.

In addition, he is pushing for a third outdoor rally on the weekend, and seems to be making a general offensive, saying that he will make this month Kim's special prosecutor's month.

However, as the first trial ruling on Lee Jae-myung's violation of the Public Official Election Act comes out on the 15th, the day after the scheduled plenary session and the day before the third outdoor rally, there is also an atmosphere of watching the results closely.

So far, I'm YTN Lim Sungjae in the National Assembly.
