Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Mi-ryeong visited Hanaro Mart in Seocho-gu, Seoul today (10th) to check the supply and demand of kimchi ingredients.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food said it would supply the market with contract cultivation supplies such as 24,000 tons of cabbage and 9,100 tons of radish during the kimchi season, and also supply government reserves of seasoned vegetables such as garlic.
Then, until the 4th of next month, we will support up to 40% discount on 11 items of kimchi, including cabbage and radish.
Minister Song Mi-ryeong, who visited the site, said that consumer prices of cabbage are expected to stabilize more after this month, and predicted that the supply of kimchi ingredients such as red pepper powder and onions will stabilize as production increases.
