"Russian military casualties in October, average 1,500 a day..."The most since the war"

Last month, Russian military casualties were the highest since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, British military officials claimed.

According to the BBC, Tony Radakin, chairman of the British Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the BBC that an average of 1,500 Russian troops were killed or injured a day in October.

Russia, which has been at war with Ukraine for more than two and a half years, has not officially announced the number of casualties of the war, but Western officials believe it has lost the most troops since last month's war.

Radakin added that the total number of Russian military casualties since the start of the war in February 2022 has been around 700,000 so far.

It also stressed that Russia is pouring more than 40% of its public spending into the war, a "tremendous loss" for the country.

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump's recent victory in the U.S. presidential election has raised concerns that the Trump administration will pressure Ukraine to end the war on the condition that it cede territory to Russia.

In response, Radakin said Western allies would be firm in supporting Ukraine "as long as necessary," drawing a line on the possibility of such end-of-war pressure.
