The Segokcheon waterfront space in Gangnam, Seoul, has been transformed into a civic leisure and cultural space.The Segokcheon Waterfront Vitality Base, which was created as the fifth space of the
'Seoul-type Waterfront Sensitive City' project, has been built as a complex cultural space for office workers and their families, including a natural ecological experience space and a playground, centered on the 'Water Mower Park' where the performance stage was set up.
The Seoul Waterfront Sensitive City Project will renovate 78 small rivers and waterfront spaces in Seoul to turn them into spaces for citizens to enjoy. The city previously renovated the areas around Hongjecheon and Dorimcheon to create a waterfall cafe and waterfront terrace.
City plans to establish waterfront vitality bases in Bulgwangcheon and Godeokcheon within this year, and 27 bases in 21 autonomous districts, including Seongbukcheon, Gupabalcheon, Uicheon, and Anyangcheon, next year.
