The government will strengthen the monitoring system and administrative measures for violations to prevent illegal distribution of Onnuri gift certificates.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a briefing and said it will seek to recover unfair profits in addition to imposing current fines and canceling franchisees for merchants caught in illegal distribution of Onnuri gift certificates.

In addition, the relevant laws and regulations will be revised to extend the limit on franchise registration from one year to three years and to limit participation in small business support projects for five years.

In addition, it plans to set a maximum exchange limit to prevent merchants from exchanging gift certificates in large quantities by falsely inflating sales.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will also strengthen its monitoring system to shorten the period of on-site investigations of suspected merchants from once a year to a monthly basis.

In addition, as most of the illegal distribution of Onnuri gift certificates occurs in tributaries, we decided to increase digital issuance.
