A soldier who had been on consolation leave for nearly two months due to false documents was sentenced to prison late after receiving no punishment until he was discharged from the military.
The Seoul Western District Court sentenced a 22-year-old man, identified only by his surname Moon, to six months in prison and two years of probation for forgery of public electronic records.
The court explained that the guilt is not light because it lowers the morale of soldiers who serve faithfully, but that Moon has now taken the first step into society.
Moon, who served in the military from November 2021 to August 2023, is accused of accessing the National Defense Personnel Information System, falsely applying for a vacation, and making his supervisor approve it.It turned out that Mr.
