Flights to and from Bali have been canceled one after another due to the eruption of the Sosunda Islands in Indonesia, which has continued since the beginning of this month.

According to Antara News Agency, two Korean Air flights departing Incheon International Airport for Bali yesterday afternoon turned to Korea near the Philippines.

Korean Air explained that it decided to return to the airport after a forecast was made that the ash from the Lewatovy Rakiraki volcano would affect Bali Airport.

Australia's Qantas Airways and AirAsia have also suspended flights to Bali for safety reasons caused by volcanic ash.

Singapore Scoot Airlines has cancelled all flights to and from Bali and nearby Lombok.

Lewatovy Rakiraki Volcano, about 800 kilometers from Bali, began erupting again on the 3rd and is still pumping ash up to 10 kilometers high.

At least nine residents were killed in the eruption.

Indonesian authorities have raised the volcanic alert to the highest level of four, closed nearby airports, and decided to permanently relocate some 16,000 residents living nearby.
