The results of the appeal of former lawmaker Yoon Mi-hyang, who was put on trial for embezzling donations for victims of Japanese military Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, will be released today.

The Supreme Court will proceed with the appeal of former lawmaker Yoon, who was indicted on charges of embezzlement in business, at around 10:10 a.m. today (14th).

Former lawmaker Yoon was put on trial from 2011 to 2020 on charges of embezzling more than 100 million won by using the funds of the Justice Memory Solidarity corporation's account or arbitrarily using funds collected from his personal account.

In February last year, the first trial recognized only 17 million won, which has not been proven, as embezzlement, and sentenced former lawmaker Yoon to a fine of 15 million won.

However, in September of the same year, the appeals court recognized 80 million won, more than four times the amount recognized by the first trial, as embezzlement for work and sentenced him to one and a half years in prison and three years of probation.

Under the Public Official Election Act, elected officials will be invalidated if they are sentenced to imprisonment or higher, and former lawmaker Yoon finished his term as a member of the National Assembly before the Supreme Court ruling.
