New York Stock Exchange Slashes 3 Major Indexes On Inflation Unrest

2024.11.15 AM 07:49
The three major U.S. stock indexes fell along with the Trump Trade, which had been pushing up stock prices, and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's suggestion of adjusting the pace of interest rate cuts.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones 30 Industrial Average closed at 43,750.86, down 207.33 points or 0.47% from the previous session.

The Standard & Poor's 500 closed 36.21 points, 0.60% behind the previous session at 5,949.17, and the Nasdaq Composite closed at 19,107.65, down 123.07 points, 0.64% from the previous session.

This week, expectations for Trump's regime pushed up the stock index shortly after last week's presidential election, but the upper end was blocked as a short-term surge strengthened the desire to realize profits.

In addition, the stock index fell sharply as Powell intensively discussed inflation and suggested that it could slow the rate cut.
