Hyundai Motor's Jang Jae-hoon Promoted Vice Chairman...First foreign CEO Jose Munoz

Hyundai Motor Group has conducted executive appointments of its CEO and presidents this year.

As President Jang Jae-hoon was promoted to vice chairman, Hyundai Motor's vice chairman system, which was virtually dismantled in 2022, was revived.

The successor is Jose Munoz, Hyundai Motor's global chief operating officer, and the first foreign CEO has been born in 57 years since Hyundai's founding.

Hyundai Motor plans to appoint Sung Kim, a former U.S. ambassador to Korea, as the head of the think tank responsible for foreign cooperation and analysis of domestic and foreign policy trends.

Hyundai Motor explained that this personnel appointment is characterized by strengthening the internal stability of the organization and accelerating future transformation, such as boldly placing a leader with proven performance and capabilities as the CEO of the group.

In addition, Vice President Choi Joon-young, Kia's domestic production manager and Chief Safety and Health Officer, and Vice President Lee Kyu-bok, CEO of Hyundai Glovis, were promoted to president, respectively.

In addition, Vice President Baek Chul-seung of Hyundai Transys was appointed as the CEO, and Lee Han-woo, the executive director of the housing business division, and Joo Woo-jung, the head of Kia's financial division, were appointed as the CEO of Hyundai E&C and Hyundai Engineering, respectively.

Hyundai Kepico CEO Oh Jun-dong, managing director of Kia Electricity Generation Center, will be promoted to vice president.
