Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and APEC summit will be held in China in 2026.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency and CCTV reported on the 16th local time that President Xi made the remarks on the last day of the APEC summit in Lima, Peru.
As a result, the APEC summit is expected to be held in East Asia for the second consecutive year following Gyeongju, Korea next year.
China previously hosted the APEC Leaders' Meeting in Shanghai and Beijing in 2001 and 2014, respectively.
