The presidential office said it is focusing on strengthening high-level government consultations and communication to improve Korea-China relations.
A senior presidential official told reporters in Brazil, where the G20 summit will be held, that the most important thing is to continue high-level consultations and communication when asked about the development strategy of Korea-China relations.
"China is a country with a party-centered socialist decision-making process, so if it decides above, it will be done quickly," he said, explaining that the activation of high-level dialogue between governments is likely to lead to improved relations.
It is encouraging that high-level talks have grown faster, more frequent and deeper since May, adding that the two countries will continue to produce concrete results in free trade negotiations, trade cooperation, and human and cultural exchanges.
Asked in an interview with Brazilian media whether Yoon Suk Yeol's statement that the U.S. and China were not a matter of choice meant a change in diplomatic strategy, he said our national-interest diplomatic strategy had never changed in the past two and a half years.
