Park Dan-dan, chairman of the emergency committee of the Korean Medical Association, said he thinks new medical students will also join the leave of absence next year, and insisted that the government should consider suspending the recruitment of new students even now.
Chairman Park, who appeared on CBS Radio, said in March next year that education is impossible even if there are 1,000 more people than the existing quota, and that suspension of recruitment is the best number to minimize medical damage.
He also argued that doctors will not go back to work at this rate, and that it may take about 10 years to solve the situation, and that next year will be a real catastrophe, and there may be situations that cannot be solved even if they want to.
He then said that he doesn't think new students will take classes next year, and predicted that it would not be easy to take classes because all the seniors in the second and fourth grades are not taking classes, but the freshmen in the first grade have benefited from the Yoon Suk Yeol government.
Regarding the ruling and opposition party council, he said, "I personally think it is useless," adding that the direction of the council may vary depending on who pushes for it, and Han Dong-hoon, chairman of the People's Power, believes there is little will.
