The Democratic Party of Korea is struggling to come up with countermeasures against a series of unfavorable factors such as the first trial of Lee Jae-myung's violation of the Public Official Election Act and the prosecution of corporate card allegations.

Party-level discussions have begun on the strategy of the second trial, including the reorganization of the lawyers, and on the other hand, the special prosecutor Kim Gun-hee has not given up the reins of the offensive.

The Democratic Party of Korea says that the party cannot help but come forward in responding to Lee Jae-myung's appeal of the Public Official Election Act, which is also at stake in the return of 43.4 billion won in election reserves.

Some say that the lawyers should be reorganized into conservative or election law specialists, as some analysts say that they should set up a separate defense team for the party or that they were virtually "defeated" in the first trial.

[Kim Yong-min / Deputy floor leader of the main opposition Minjoo Party: By giving a sentence that could affect the election, it seriously undermined the people's right to choose Lee Jae-myung, in other words, their sovereignty]

According to the standard applied to CEO Lee, Mrs. Kim Gun-hee also launched a counterattack with the Special Prosecutor's Act, saying that it is no different from life imprisonment.

The ruling party's claim that the special prosecutor is unconstitutional is a sophistry and rigor when Choi Soon-sil filed a constitutional appeal in the past, and a logic that has already been rejected.

[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader: If the independent counsel was unconstitutional, the Yoon Suk Yeol prosecutor would not have been a presidential candidate, and this administration would not have been able to exist.]

However, some in the party also sense that criticism targeting the entire judiciary should be cautious.

Instead, some argued that the level of the rental struggle should be raised to impeachment or shortening the term of office.

The Democratic Party of Korea plans to focus on public opinion by continuing picketing and tent sit-ins until just before the re-vote of the Kim Special Counsel Act, which is expected on the 28th.
