A worker's radiation exposure accident occurred at one of the companies licensed to produce radiation generators.
The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission said it received a report at 10:51 a.m. today that a worker's hand was exposed to radiation and was suspected of being exposed to the radiation at a company A in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.
Company A is an agency that has been approved for the production of radiation generators, and it has been confirmed that a suspected radiation exposure accident occurred while testing the products of the radiation generators.
Currently, the suspected exposure has been transferred to the Korea Atomic Energy Academy, and the Nuclear Safety and Technology Institute plans to check the details of the incident, whether it exceeds the legal dose limit, and whether it violates related regulations.
