The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Unit booked two incumbent Incheon City Council members without detention on charges of receiving bribes from electronic board suppliers.
They are suspected of intervening in the electronic board supply project promoted by the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education to help certain companies deliver electronic boards and collect the price.
Police said they are also investigating two officials from electronic board suppliers for allegedly offering bribes to city council members.
In September, civic groups in Incheon received a petition asking the police to investigate the alleged supply irregularities.
