Foreign media reported that a shooter was killed and three police officers were injured in a shooting near the Israeli Embassy in Jordan.
A man opened fire on a patrol near the Israeli embassy in the Jordanian capital of Amman early on the 24th local time, according to Reuters.
Jordan's state-run Petra news agency reported that the man opened fire when he was surrounded by police, and that police killed him at the scene in accordance with rules of engagement.
He also said that three police officers were injured in the incident and were being treated.
The shooting was said to be the site of frequent anti-Israel protests.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October last year, large-scale protests have been held across the country due to rising hostile sentiment against Israel in Jordan.
