The perjury teacher case of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, is a simple case that "Lee gave false testimony to witnesses."

However, the beginning of the charges is somewhat complicated by the impersonation of a prosecutor 22 years ago.

The root of the perjury teacher case, which Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung is set to be sentenced in the first trial, is the 2002 "prosecutor impersonation" case.

It is said that CEO Lee helped KBS PD, who was digging into the suspicion of preferential sale of the late former Seongnam Mayor Kim Byung-ryang, to impersonate a prosecutor.

Lee denied the allegations, but the Supreme Court confirmed a fine of 1.5 million won two years later.

The prosecutor impersonation case came back to the surface 16 years later.

When a question was asked about this during a TV debate for the candidate for governor of Gyeonggi Province in 2018, Lee said, "I was framed."

Prosecutors again indicted Lee on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act, believing that his remarks were false.

complained of unfairness and called Kim Jin-sung, a former secretary of the late Seongnam Mayor Kim Byung-ryang, to request testimony.

The recording of the conversation between the two was found while the prosecution was investigating Kim in connection with the alleged corruption in Baekhyun-dong's development.

Judging that Kim's testimony had a decisive effect on Lee's final acquittal, the prosecution handed Lee over to trial on charges of perjury and Kim on charges of perjury.

Attention is focusing on what the chain of "judicial risks" of being tried again for cases that have been tried in the past, leading to another trial.
