POSCO's labor union approved industrial action...72% of registered employees approve

The POSCO union has secured the right to dispute, allowing it to engage in various disputes, including strikes.

POSCO's representative bargaining union, the Federation of Korean Metal Workers' Union, said it approved the industrial action in a vote of its members.

As a result of the POSCO union's vote for and against industrial action, 5,733 people, or 72% of the 7,934 people, voted in favor.

However, it is reported that the union will not go on strike immediately, but will engage in industrial action step by step according to negotiations with the company later.

POSCO's labor and management have held more than 11 wage negotiations since late June, but have not reached an agreement.

The union is demanding an 8.3% increase in basic salary and a 300% incentive payment, but the company is confronting it with an 80,000 won increase in basic salary and a 6 million won lump sum payment.
