Pope Message 'World Youth Congress' Cross Unveils Myeongdong Cathedral on the 29th

The wooden cross and the Virgin Mary, which have been received from the Vatican ahead of the 2027 World Youth Congress, the WYD, will be open to the public on the 29th.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul said the WYD symbol, the Wood Cross and the Virgin Mary, was delivered to young Koreans at a Mass held at St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican on the morning of the 24th local time.

Pope Francis said he hopes Korea's young people will take the cross to Asia to convey the love of Jesus Christ to the world, and to be a comfort in a world marred by all kinds of conflicts and wars.

The cross and the Virgin Mary will be open to the public at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th at the WYD Cross, Icon Welcome Night at Myeongdong Cathedral.

The 2027 Seoul World Youth Conference is considered the biggest festival for Catholic youth, which is expected to attract 1 million people not only from Korea but also from abroad.
