Reports say Israel has tentatively agreed in principle to a cease-fire with Lebanese militant Hezbollah.

As it is expected to be officially approved as early as today (26th), attention is being paid to whether artillery guns in Lebanon will subside after a year of fighting with Hezbollah.

I'm reporter Jeong Yu-shin on the report.

CNN and others reported that Israel agreed in principle to a ceasefire with Lebanese militant Hezbollah.

CNN said Netanyahu had tentatively agreed to a U.S.-proposed cease-fire in a meeting with officials, and that it would be approved by a Cabinet vote as early as today.

Internet media Axios also quoted a senior U.S. official as saying that the agreement has reached the goal line but has not yet passed it.

The draft ceasefire includes Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon and Hezbollah's exit south of the Ritani River to create a buffer zone.

[Gidon Sarr, Israeli Foreign Minister: The first is to prevent Hezbollah from moving south of Ritani, and the second is to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its forces and rearmament in Lebanon.]

To this end, the two sides will have a 60-day transition period to monitor whether neighboring countries properly implement the ceasefire under the leadership of the United States.

[Abdullah Bu Habib, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon: For permanent and sustainable security and peace at the border, we must end the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory.]

The news that Netanyahu was issued a warrant for an arrest at the International Criminal Court on war crimes also threatened to collapse, but the U.S. envoy's mediation reportedly accelerated the pace.

However, there are concerns that the negotiations could be canceled due to one mistake due to the continued strong offensive from both sides.

In fact, nearly 30 people were killed in an airstrike in Beirut over the weekend, and Hezbollah also launched a counterattack with more than 200 rockets.

If an actual ceasefire is reached, gunfire will stop a year after the war with Hezbollah in Lebanon following the Hamas and Gaza wars in October last year.
