Samsung Electronics has made a presidential appointment to replace the head of its semiconductor consignment production and foundry division, which had been struggling, and reorganize its business line.
In addition, Jeon Young-hyun, the head of the device solution (DS) division (vice chairman), who was suddenly put in place in May, was appointed as the CEO, restoring the two-member CEO system.
Samsung Electronics announced the appointment of a total of nine regular presidents in 2025, including two promotions for presidents and seven changes in commissioning tasks.
Vice President Han Jin-man was promoted to the Foundry business manager and Vice President Kim Yong-kwan of the business support TF was promoted to the president of management strategy in the DS division.
To overcome uncertain internal and external business conditions and take a new leap forward, Samsung Electronics explained that it has carried out innovative personnel changes by converting its memory division to a system under the direct control of its CEO and granting new business discovery tasks to veteran presidents with proven management capabilities.
It added that senior presidents with proven global leadership and management capabilities will be given challenges such as consumer experience innovation to focus on enhancing the company's mid- to long-term value.
Han Jin-man, head of Samsung Electronics' DS division foundry division, has been the head of Samsung's semiconductor division and has led the semiconductor business in the U.S. front line.
Samsung Electronics said President Han is expected to strengthen its network with key customers along with innovation in process technology to grow Samsung's competitiveness in the memory sector to the next level.
