Reuters reported, citing two officials, that the U.S. Joe Biden administration, which is set to retire in January next year, is seeking additional arms aid worth more than $720 million to Ukraine and 1 trillion won in our money.
According to officials, the U.S. plans to provide anti-tank landmines, drones, surface-to-air missiles, and high-speed battery artillery rocket systems called HIMARS to prevent Russian troops from advancing.
The support on this scale is a significant increase from the recent Ukrainian aid package of $100-200 million, Reuters explained.
The government will formally notify Congress of the plan as early as next Monday, and the size and details of the aid could vary ahead of Biden's final signature.
