The Ministry of Justice said today (28th) that a revision to the Child Abuse Punishment Act, which is based on the establishment of an attempted child abuse and murder crime, has passed the National Assembly plenary session.
Child abuse murder is punished by the death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for more than seven years, and previously, the law did not provide for attempted criminals, so it has applied the general rule of attempted murder, which is punished by the death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for more than five years.
The amendment also includes a provision requiring prosecutors to request a trial that causes them to lose or change their status when an attempted child abuse killer is a parental authority or guardian of the victim.
In addition, ground rules have been established to impose an order to complete a child abuse treatment program even if a summary order is received, as well as those charged and convicted of child abuse.
