Regarding the direction of the main budget plan for next year, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "The expansionary finances focused on 'opportunity, responsibility, and integration' will serve as a springboard for turning crisis into opportunity."
"Our economy is in a total crisis right now, and the solution to this is expansionary finance," Governor Kim said in a speech at the 5th plenary session of the provincial council's regular session. "We will continue bold expansionary finance for people-centered Gyeonggi Province next year following this year."
Among the main budgets organized by the province, the "opportunity budget" included SOC investments such as roads, rivers and railways, youth opportunity policies, and climate budget projects such as climate satellites and climate funds.The
'responsible budget' included issuing local currency next year, supporting small business owners' operating expenses, supporting discount coupons for agricultural and fishery products, and a big sale to revive the economy. The 'integrated budget' included cultural projects commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation, a 50% increase in honor allowance for participation in war, and an increase in the social integration budget for migrant workers and multicultural families.
The province has submitted a budget bill worth 38.7 trillion won next year, up 2.5 trillion won from 36.1 trillion won this year, which is being deliberated by the provincial council.
