Lee Ju-ho, "If AI textbook status is lost, education gap will widen."

2024.11.29 PM 05:31
Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Lee Ju-ho expressed concern, saying that if the revision of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which changes the status of artificial intelligence (AI) digital textbooks, passes the National Assembly, there will be major confusion.

At the announcement of the adjustment plan for the introduction of AI textbooks today (29th), Deputy Prime Minister Lee said that if AI textbooks are changed to learning materials, students will be deprived of equal educational opportunities, which will widen the educational gap.

Therefore, each student said he would persuade the National Assembly to change classrooms and schools and bridge the educational gap at an important time.

Earlier yesterday (28th), opposition lawmakers passed an amendment to the law that defined the status of AI textbooks as "educational materials" at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Education Committee.
