As the Democratic Party of Korea formalized the impeachment of the auditor following three prosecutors, including the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, political battles are spreading.
While the Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Hae-jae expressed regret, the ruling party slammed the president for a frenzied impeachment rampage, and the opposition party issued a warning to the prosecutor's group.

Choi Hae-soo, chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, poured out his determined remarks at the National Assembly as the Democratic Party pushed for impeachment against him.
They say it undermines the foundation of the constitutional order and cannot be accepted.
[Choi Hae-sa / Director of Audit: To sum up my position, I am very sorry for this political impeachment that undermines the foundation of the constitutional order.]
One of the reasons for impeachment, the controversy over the poor audit of the relocation of the presidential residence, refuted that it was handled in accordance with laws and principles and did not confirm the connection of Kim Gun-hee.
The People's Power criticized the Democratic Party's addiction to impeachment and the shaking of the regime as a rampage of impeachment.
In particular, he said that behind the impeachment of Choi, there is a political aim to take control of the Board of Audit and Inspection.
[Choo Kyung-ho / Floor Leader of People's Power: The Board of Audit and Inspection (Director of Audit and Inspection) will suspend the duties of the Board of Audit and Inspection and use the Board of Audit and Inspection in an advantageous direction by allowing an auditor appointed by the Moon Jae In government to lead the Board of Audit and Inspection during that period....]
On the other hand, the Democratic Party effectively declared a "full-scale war" against the prosecution.
As the prosecutors' collective backlash spread to the impeachment of three prosecutors, including Lee Chang-soo, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, even the party's leadership came forward to define it as a violation of the duty of neutrality and illegal collective action by public officials and forewarned legal action.
[Kim Min-seok / Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea: Did you say anything about Kim Gun-hee's innocence? What is the Minister of Justice doing? All should be punished for violating Article 66 of the National Public Officials Act prohibiting collective action.]
The impeachment bill of three prosecutors and the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection is expected to be reported to the plenary session on the 2nd of next month and passed two days later as the opposition party has won a majority of seats.
However, some observers say that the opposition party could face headwinds if damage is caused by their job vacancies or if the impeachment is put on hold by the Constitutional Court in the future.
