It was the afternoon of the day before yesterday that the heating and hot water supply were cut off in Helio City, a large apartment complex in Garak-dong, Seoul.

A fire in my underground heat exchange room, believed to be overloaded, caused damage to nine buildings and 1,357 households.

As the restoration work continued for three days in the cold wave, the inconvenience of residents increased.

[Apartment resident A: I was embarrassed because this happened when it was the coldest. I or the kids are washing by boiling water at home.

I also went to and from a public sauna facility in the apartment to use hot water.

[Apartment resident B: It's a little uncomfortable going out to wash up, but I don't think it's a serious situation. When I go to work, I just wash my hair with cold water..]

The management office said the recovery is expected to be completed as early as this afternoon.

Firefighters with lanterns travel back and forth in the dark, and residents look anxiously at it.

The electricity supply to the apartment in Jungangtap-myeon, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do was cut off at around 11:40 p.m. last night.

More than 700 households in 10 buildings suffered from inconvenience.

The Korea Electric Power Corporation explained that the apartment's own facilities were broken.

In Deokyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, a power outage occurred in more than 700 households when the external transformer terminal of the officetel building caught fire.

As electricity was cut off for nearly a day, businesses were disrupted, and households living in the area suffered inconveniences, such as not being able to use heaters.

In Jongno-gu, Seoul, a fire broke out in a hanok under interior construction.
