Yeoju Mayor "Request to declare a 'special disaster zone' due to heavy snowfall"

Yeoju Mayor Lee Choong-woo said he has decided to ask the government to declare a special disaster zone with Gyeonggi-do Province as heavy snow has caused enormous damage.

Mayor Lee was briefed on the heavy snow damage and said, "We will support farming activities next year without any problems and minimize damage to farmers."

The preliminary tally showed that Yeoju City's heavy snow damage was more than 8.3 billion won, including 2.8 billion won in the agricultural sector and 5.5 billion won in the livestock sector, and the damage was expected to increase further as each township is investigating the damage.
