On today (2nd), the legal deadline for next year's budget bill, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik said he will postpone the budget until the 10th, calling for an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.

Although the "opposition party's single plan," which only reflects the reduction, has crossed the threshold of the plenary session, the unprecedented worst situation in constitutional history has been avoided, the positions of the ruling and opposition parties are still sharply divided.

The competition between the ruling party, which has no negotiations until it apologizes for the passage of next year's budget alone and withdraws it, and the Democratic Party of Korea, which said it would pass the opposition party's single reduction plan if it was not negotiated, was fierce from the morning meeting.

[Jang Dong-hyuk / Supreme Council Member for People's Power] If this is for intimidation for negotiations, no negotiations should be allowed.]

[Lee Jae-myung / Democratic Party leader: It's a problem because they didn't increase the amount, they didn't negotiate, it's really absurd. If the government needed it, it should have come up with a budget proposal. Does it make sense to come up now?]

Attention was drawn to the meeting of floor leaders of the ruling and opposition parties presided over by National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, but the meeting between the ruling and opposition parties was canceled after a protest visit by senior ruling party lawmakers.

Chairman Woo held an emergency press conference immediately and announced that he would delay the proposal and processing of next year's budget until the 10th when the regular National Assembly ends.

The ruling party is the ruling party and the opposition party is the majority party, and the government is asking for respect for the National Assembly's right to review the budget.

[Won-Sik Woo / Speaker of the National Assembly: The National Assembly is responsible for stabilizing people's livelihoods and the economy and creating a budget for the economically weak and vulnerable to hope]

However, the positions of the people, the Democratic Party, and both sides still ran parallel.

[Choo Kyung-ho / People's Power Floor Leader: There is no change what has been said. Repeal and apologize again the budget bill passed by the Democratic Party of Korea (DPP) by the Budget and Accounts Committee.]

[Park Chan-dae / Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea: We are not interested in increasing the public welfare budget, but we are only interested in protecting special activity expenses. I wonder what will be different if we give more deadline for negotiation.by the end of the day...]

Chairman Woo Won-sik called for additional negotiations and, in fact, a "temporary ceasefire" and avoided extreme clashes between the ruling and opposition parties for now.

However, analysts say that the negotiation environment is not easy due to the combination of various impeachment votes pushed by the opposition party and the re-vote of the Kim Gun-hee independent counsel law until the 10th, which was requested by Chairman Woo.
