Chung Mong-kyu, chairman of the Korea Football Association, has begun the process of winning his fourth consecutive term.

Chairman Chung submitted an "expression of intention to register candidates" to the Korea Football Association this morning (2nd) in accordance with the regulation that requires 50 days before the expiration of his term of office to announce his intention to run in the next election.

The chairman's duties were automatically suspended, and Vice Chairman Kim Jung-bae will act as the head of the association until the election of the next chairman.

At the same time, Chairman Chung also submitted documents to the Korea Sports Council's Sports Fair Committee for a second term review.

Former national soccer team coach Huh Jung-moo has already thrown his hat in the ring, and the next election in January next year will be held in a primary for the first time in 12 years.
