In the aftermath of the emergency martial law crisis, the Presidential Special Committee on Medical Reform, which discusses medical reform measures, is also experiencing a setback.
Shin Eung-jin, special chairman of Suncheonhyang University Central Medical Center, who participated in the special committee on medical reform recommended by the Korean Hospital Association,
Park Jin-sik, chairman of Sejong Hospital, told Lee Sung-kyu, president of the Hospital Association, today (4th) that he will resign from the committee of the special committee on medical reform.
The Hospital Association, which is the only medical organization participating in the special committee, will issue a final statement tomorrow morning (5th), and it is reported that it has set a policy to withdraw the special committee.
Due to the political turmoil, the meeting of the Special Committee on Medical Reform, which was scheduled to be held this afternoon (4th), has been postponed indefinitely, and tomorrow's meeting (5th) has been replaced by written deliberation.
The special committee was scheduled to announce the second implementation of medical reforms later this month, including non-payment management, improvement of indemnity insurance, and a safety net for medical accidents, but it became unclear whether it would proceed as planned.
