The second anniversary of Vietnam Day was held at Gwangju City Hall in Gyeonggi Province, attended by more than 500 officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, Vietnamese multicultural families, and Gwangju citizens.
Vietnam Day is an anniversary declared in 2022 to commemorate the visit of the Vietnamese president to Gwangju City, and Gwangju City has designated December 1st to 7th as Vietnam Week every year.
At this ceremony, Vietnam Ilang Investment Co., Ltd. donated 3 million won to support the settlement of Vietnamese residents living in Gwangju City.
In addition, through the presentation of the Korean essay, we had time to share episodes about the lives of Vietnamese residents living in Gwangju in Korea and experiences related to multiculturalism.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "We will do our best to strengthen the emotional bond between Vietnamese residents and citizens and to establish a stable settlement of multicultural families."
