South Korean tourist dies after falling tree in Bali due to strong winds

Two people, including a Korean tourist, were killed when a large tree collapsed in a famous tourist attraction in Bali, Indonesia.

The injured tourists were taken to the hospital, but two people, a 42-year-old Korean tourist and a 32-year-old French national, died.

Local media reported that strong winds in Monkey Forest at the time caused several trees to fall, and that trees whose roots weakened during the rainy season should have been logging in advance to prevent accidents.

Ubud National Police Agency Commissioner Gustinoman Sudarsana says he is working with Korean and French consulates, including informing the victims' families of the accident.

The Bali branch of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia informed the victims' families of the accident and said the bereaved families will discuss funeral procedures after arriving in Bali.
