Prosecutors investigating the "suspected nomination intervention" have secured a mobile phone, so-called "golden phone," that Myung Tae-kyun may have talked to President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife.
The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office secured three mobile phones, a mobile storage device, and a USB memory from Myung's aide by voluntary submission.
The prosecution has been calling Myung to check the newly secured evidence since this morning (13th).
Among the evidence obtained by the prosecution, the mobile phone used by Myung from September 2019 to November last year was reportedly included.
The prosecution believes that the cell phone may contain a recording of the phone call between Myung and Yoon Suk Yeol's president and his wife and a famous politician.
In particular, it was the year of the 2022 presidential election as well as the parliamentary by-elections and local elections, and it was a time when there was a show of friendship between Myung and influential politicians and suspicions of manipulating public opinion polls.
The prosecution indicted Myung in custody on the 3rd, and charged him with hiding his cell phone by making his brother-in-law in September.
