President-elect Trump has announced a "special mission ambassador" under the direct control of the president.

Richard Grenell, former ambassador to Germany, is his diplomatic envoy who was also mentioned as a candidate for secretary of state.

President-elect Trump cited Venezuela and North Korea as examples, saying that the special ambassador will be in charge of the world's major conflict zones.

Grenell, a former ambassador who also served as acting director of national intelligence in the first Trump administration, has actively defended Trump's "America First" diplomacy.

Former Ambassador Grenell also explained at a press conference in July that Trump's first U.S.-North Korea summit was more necessary because North Korea threatened the U.S.

No matter who is a foreign leader, we have to talk and fight for the United States.

Trump has repeatedly emphasized that he has a good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un from his campaign to his recent media interviews.

However, the objectives of the second Trump administration's North Korea policy have yet to be disclosed.

Some worry that Trump, who emphasizes U.S. priority, may compromise with North Korea to eliminate only the nuclear threat to the U.S. mainland.

Since North Korea has also repeatedly emphasized that it will never give up on strengthening its nuclear force, it is unclear whether Trump will readily engage in dialogue just because he is in power.
