While the culture of "pre-payment" has spread at the scene of a rally calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol, some self-employed people have received pre-payment and tried to open a business, sparking controversy.
Recently, several online communities have posted articles titled "Bitter Reviews of Pre-Paid Businesses."
The author A said, "I went to a kimbap restaurant that was pre-paid because I was thinking of eating kimbap before going to Yeouido High School's assembly," adding, "There are already about 30 people standing in front of me, so I was waiting, but delivery orders kept coming in." Pre-payment orders continued to be pushed back because of delivery orders.
At the time, he claimed that there were only five people waiting for 45 minutes.
This situation is said to have continued at cookie stores where pre-payment was completed.
Mr. A said, "When I said the name of the person who paid in advance, the owner said, 'Not now,' and he took orders from the back."
He said, "I'm not saying that (the pre-payment items) have all been sold out, but I'm saying that I can't because there are so many customers now. I know you're busy, but I hope you don't act as if you're giving free meals to beggars," he stressed.
Netizens who heard the story responded, "It's perfect to eat using pre-payment preferences," "You've already received the money," "You're using good intentions like this," and "There are likely to be many pre-payment stores that eat and run."
