The most common surgery for Koreans is 'Caucoma'.

It was found that cataract surgery was the most common surgery performed by the Korean people last year.

According to the National Health Insurance Service's 2023 major surgery statistics, cataracts were the most frequent surgery.

It was also followed by 207,000 general spinal surgeries and 152,000 hemorrhoids.

By age, the most common cases were tonsil resection for under 9 years old, appendectomy for teenagers, cesarean section for those in their 20s and 30s, and hemorrhoids for those in their 40s, and cataract surgery was the highest after their 50s.
