The cost of shipping to China has risen again in a month.
The Korea Customs Service said last month that transportation costs per 40-foot standard container bound for China averaged 839,000 won, up 14.4% from the previous month.
Shipping costs for sea exports to China rose for the eighth consecutive month since February, then fell sharply in October, but then returned to an upward trajectory.
In addition, sea transport costs to the western and eastern United States, Japan, and Vietnam have all increased.
Maritime export transportation costs have been on the rise due to a shortage of ships due to increased volume, along with attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels.
