Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said that the unstable situation in South Korea is affecting the economy, but it will be a kind of "stress test" and that the confusion will calm down in accordance with legal procedures in an early time.
Lee met with members of the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea and "Amcham" at the National Assembly and said, "I hope that a moment of confusion can be considered as an opportunity to invest in Korea or to buy at a low price."
He also stressed that the Korea-U.S. relationship will develop into a total alliance beyond blood alliance, saying that the economy of the Republic of Korea has grown with great help from the U.S. and other free camps.
In response, Chairman James Kim of Amcham responded by saying that he fully respects the National Assembly's decision based on the support of the Korean people, referring to the approval of the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol on the 14th.
He added that while some political uncertainties currently exist, he firmly believes in the potential of South Korea.
