The People's Power has adopted a resolution urging the judiciary to make a quick and fair ruling in connection with the Democratic Party's representative Lee Jae-myung's trial.
The People's Power said in a party statement released after the general meeting of lawmakers that bulletproof politics, such as Lee's delay in trial and political intimidation toward investigators and the judiciary, provided an important cause of the national crisis.
He then pointed out that since the Public Official Election Act stipulates that the second trial should be completed within three months, the violation of the representative election law should be concluded before February 15 next year.
He also stressed that the judiciary should rule according to laws and principles without being swayed by the external pressure of the large opposition party in a state of crisis.
At the same time, the People's Power also asked the Constitutional Court to make a fair and strict judgment on the impeachment of President Yoon based on the procedures set by the Constitution and laws.
