A group of people who sold regular tumblers as if they were famous coffee brand products were caught.
The Busan Regional Office of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it has arrested four people a day on charges of violating the Food Sanitation Act and sent them to the prosecution.
They are accused of making about 1.3 billion won in profits by selling tumblers, forks, and cutlery online with false coffee brand trademarks for four years from 2020.
In addition, it was found that they illegally brought some products in without an import declaration and then repackaged and sold them as if they were real products.
The group sold counterfeit products up to 60% cheaper than genuine products, and many of them were sold as wedding gifts or government memorabilia.
