The Incheon Deokjeokdo Island and the Narae Island, a five-island circulation line, are expected to operate next year, which has raised concerns about suspension due to inevitable decline in profits.
The Incheon Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office said it recently tentatively agreed with Daebu Shipping, a circular operator, to extend the service contract for the Deokjeokdo Jinri-Uldo route, which ends at the end of this month.
Accordingly, we will sign an extension contract as early as this week and decide on details such as the size of the support and the contract period after consultation.
The Deokjeokdo Jinri-Uldo route is a state-subsidized route where the state supports the deficit in operation.
