Netherlands imposes 7.1 billion won fine on Netflix for 'violation of personal information'

2024.12.18 PM 10:32
The Dutch Personal Information Protection Agency (DPA) imposed a fine of 4.75 million euros and 7.16 billion won on Netflix for not properly informing users of their personal information use.

The protection agency said its investigation found that Netflix violated privacy laws because it did not clearly inform users exactly how to use their personal information and did not provide sufficient answers to users' inquiries.

In response, Netflix said it has cooperated faithfully with authorities since the launch of the investigation and has also strengthened privacy guidelines, refusing to accept the findings.
