The Military Manpower Administration announced today (19th) that if military service obligators living in 11 cities, counties, towns, and villages, which became special disaster areas in November, were damaged by heavy snow, the date of fulfillment of military service obligations could be postponed.
Residents of special disaster areas who have been notified of convocation, including military service examinations and active-duty soldiers, are eligible for postponement of implementation.
In addition, the Military Manpower Administration explained that if the family of residents in the area was damaged by heavy snow or if military service members who were damaged by heavy snow in areas other than disaster areas wish to apply for postponement.
Applications can be made by phone (1588-9090) or through the Military Manpower Administration's website or the Military Manpower Administration's app civil service, and requests for postponement will be processed after the damage is confirmed.
The 11 areas where special disaster areas were declared due to heavy snow in November are Pyeongtaek, Yongin, Icheon, Anseong, Hwaseong and Yeoju in Gyeonggi Province, Eumseong-gun in Chungbuk, Seonghwan-eup and Ipjang-myeon in Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and Anheung and Dunnae-myeon in Hoengseong-gun in Gangwon Province.
