TIKTOK OUT FOR ALBANIA YEARS..."Inducing Youth Violence"

2024.12.22 AM 07:33
Albania has decided to block Chinese video sharing platform TikTok for a year on the grounds that it causes youth violence.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said on the 21st local time that TikTok would now be removed from the Republic of Albania, and that he would enforce the blockade sometime next year.

Albanian authorities have held 1,300 meetings with teachers and parents to discuss countermeasures after a teenage fight that began on TikTok last month led to the murder of the weapon.

In response, TikTok told the Associated Press that it found no evidence that the perpetrator and victim of the incident were TikTok subscribers at the time, and that the video in question was shared on other platforms, not TikTok, and demanded an explanation from the Albanian government.

According to Albanian researchers, the majority of local TikTok users are children, and TikTok videos have reported a series of cases of students taking weapons to school in preparation for a fight.
