The Incheon District Prosecutors' Office arrested three international drug smugglers who tried to deliver drugs in Korea and put them on trial.

A 33-year-old Malaysian man is accused of receiving 1kg of methamphetamine by international mail at an Airbnb accommodation in Seoul.

B, a 36-year-old Taiwanese woman, is accused of pocketing 600 grams of methamphetamine that was buried in a hill in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.

A 53-year-old Japanese man, C, is accused of attempting to purchase 1 kg of methamphetamine in front of an elementary school in Incheon.

Each of them was ordered to deliver drugs through security messengers from different organizations, the investigation found.

In addition, he was first paid for errands for entry or stay, and after drug delivery, he was promised a price and was found to have participated in the crime.

Prosecutors recently said that international drug smuggling organizations are increasingly intervening in drug distribution in Korea by utilizing short-term foreigners who are difficult to identify and track their movements, and that they will work with customs and police to block the source.
